Installing Scanner

How do I install my scanner?
For the typical scanner Panasonic KV-SS25D:

1. Put the SCSI card into the computer first.
2. Install the SCSI card with the scanner not plugged in.
3. The computer will find an unknown device and prompt you to install the SCSI software.
4. Reboot the computer then look under “Device Manager” (right click on “My Computer” à “properties” à “Hardware” tab) to see if the SCSI card is installed properly.
5. Plug in the scanner then the Add/Remove Hardware would try to recognize it.
6. Check in “Device Manager” to see if the scanner is showing up under Other Devices. (If a ‘?’ is showing up, just ignore it.), the device is working fine.

Note: if there are still some errors when scanning: Install “RTIV” from the Panasonic CD or Panasonic folder; then open “RTIV” program to see if the scanner can connect properly. If not, the scanners might require an updated “ASPI Layer”. Visit www.adaptec.com and search for the latest ASPI layer for more information.
